Kia Ora! We are Sarah and Dan from the UK. Our children, Charli and Sophie were both born in New Zealand. We are expecting our third child in February 2010.
Sarah runs things on the home-front, whilst Dan is very busy with his business, YouDo, which was set up in April 2007. Prior to becoming a full-time Mum, Sarah enjoyed working for WWF-New Zealand and has a background in marketing and events.
Sarah and Dan met at Southampton University way back in 1992, where Sarah completed a BA (Hons) in Geography and Dan a Masters of Engineering in Aero Space Systems Engineering. A career opportunity brought Dan to New Zealand in 1996 for a couple of years. After a year back in the UK in 1998/99 a new opportunity brought us back to NZ and we’ve been here ever since.
In our pre-children days we explored a lot of the North and South Island of New Zealand, doing many of the ‘Great Walks‘.
These days our lives revolve more around the local parks, playgrounds and beaches, but are just as busy and full of life! We set this blog up when the children were born, so that friends and family far away could keep tabs on us. Since then we’ve made many friends via ‘cyberspace’.
New Zealand has captured a strong piece of our hearts and our children are so happy here. Friends and family overseas are always close in our hearts too and we are so thankful to live in the age of the Internet so we can keep in touch so easily!

Hi
I’ve just come across your wonderful blog – congrats on the birth of your third child, she looks gorgeous!
We moved to NZ in July 09 (currently living in Gore, Southland), I started blogging for friends and family to catch up on what we were up to, funny how these blogs become addictive and I’ve kept it going… (http://living-in-nz.blogspot.com/)
Feel free to take a look at it, and maybe we can post each others blog links?
Best Wishes
Eirlys
(ps couldn’t find an email address to send this so had to post as a comment!)
Thanks for stopping by and I’ll look forward to visiting your blog and following your Sourh Island adventures. Sarah
